Excerpt- "Why I Left"
Jul. 20th, 2009 04:56 pmA bit of background: Shaima is around fifteen-sixteen years old, and was living in Jaffa when the Crusaders came storming in and occupied the area. Understandably pissed off, she tried to sneak into their camp in order to see what, if any information she could gather. Unfortunately, a few of the camp's inhabitants were slightly curious about the present of a femal Saracen trying to look inconspicuous, and she ended up getting caught. The majority of the men wanted her executed, but Robin stepped in and offered to take responsibility for her. As he was told not to let her go, this entailed taking her back to England with him. Shaima was understandably less than pleased with this state of affairs, and tried to escape as soon as possible . . . only to end up being accosted by hostile villagers, and handed over to the Sheriff of Nottingham, who, putting two and two together and realizing that she had come connection to Robin, decided to try and play her against Marian to see what information he could get, and this scene ensues. Concrit appreciated.
Character Songs, Part One
May. 23rd, 2009 12:51 amRobin: Carry On My Wayward Son by Kansas
Masquerading as a man with a reason
My charade is the event of the season
And if I claim to be a wise man, well
It surely means that I don't know
On a stormy sea of moving emotion
Tossed about I'm like a ship on the ocean
I set a course for winds of fortune
But I hear the voices say
Carry on my wayward son
They'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more
John: Hero by Nickelback:
Someone told me love will all save us.
But how can that be? Look what love gave us.
A world full of killing, and blood-spilling
That world never came.
And they say that a hero can save us.
I'm not gonna stand here and wait.
I'll hold onto the wings of the eagles.
Watch as they all fly away.
Will: Son of Man by Phil Collins:
In learning you will teach
And in teaching you will learn
You'll find your place beside the ones you love
Oh, and all the things you dreamed of
The visions that you saw
Well, the time is drawing near now
It's yours to claim it all
Son of Man, look to the sky
Lift your spirit, set it free
Some day you'll walk tall with pride
Son of Man, a man in time you'll be
However, it should be noted that Will is not, in fact, Tarzan.
Shaima: Home from Beauty and the Beast
Is this home?
Is this where I should learn to be happy?
Never dreamed
That a home could be dark and cold
I was told
Every day in my childhood:
Even when you grow old
Home should be where the heart is
Never where words so true!
My heart's far, far away
Home is too
Is this home?
Is this what I must learn to believe in?
Try to find
Something good in this tragic place
Just in case
I should stay here forever
Held in this empty place
Oh, that won't be easy
I know the reason why
My heart's far, far away
Home's a lie
Sheriff: Had Enough by Breaking Benjamin:
Intoxicated eyes
No longer live that life
You should've learned by now
I'll burn this whole world down
I need some peace of mind
No fear of what's behind
You think you've won this fight
You've only lost your mind
You had to have it all
Well have you had enough?
You greedy little bastard
You will get what you deserve
When all is said and done
I will be the one
To leave you in your misery
And hate what you've become
Allan: Hallejulah by Leonard Cohen:
You say I took the name in vain
I don't even know the name
But if I did, well really, what's it to you?
There's a blaze of light in every word
It doesn't matter which you heard
The holy or the broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
I did my best, it wasn't much
I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch
I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you
And even though it all went wrong
I'll stand before the Lord of Song
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah
Masquerading as a man with a reason
My charade is the event of the season
And if I claim to be a wise man, well
It surely means that I don't know
